Richard Gasper

Inspired both by the 'putrid visions' of William Burroughs and from personal sexually traumatic dream narratives,UBER-FLUX is an exhibition of assemblages involving found and fabricated objects, photographs and painting that deal with notions of the male body, and gender and sexual identity. The work employs vernaculars of camp, excess and baroque, juxtaposed with the minimal and formalised, examining ideas and processes of reducing gestural excess to material essence.
Richard Gasper (born 1982) lives and works in London. He studied at the Slade (BA 2005) and the Royal College of Art (MA 2007).
